Реюньон интересен не только для туристов из Франции, но и для всех путешественников, которые желают познакомиться с его удивительной флорой. Каждый раз туристы много теряют, посещая Маврикий и даже не заглядывая на соседний Реюньон — остров, который всегда принадлежал Франции.
Сам я, к сожалению, так и не добрался до Родригеса, но и туда скоро легче будет попасть, так как там собираются соорудить посадочную полосу для самолетов, а в Порт-Луи уже создана новая авиационная компания, «Эр-Моритьюс», которая будет обслуживать в первую очередь Родригес и еще более мелкие острова, подчиненные Маврикию и лежащие к северу от него. Я не удивлюсь, если транспортные связи будут развиваться и дальше. Маврикий является членом «Туристической ассоциации Индийского океана», в которую входят также Мадагаскар, Реюньон и Коморские острова. Она имеет свой центр в столице Мадагаскара Антананариву (иначе Тананариву, или просто Тана).
А если сюда еще присоединятся Сейшелы или по крайней мере установится воздушная связь между Маэ и Маврикием, то можно будет совершать поистине сказочные путешествия по креоло-французскому островному миру Индийского океана. Правда, эти путешествия будут слишком просты, а следовательно и менее захватывающи. Но чем больше людей получат возможность побывать на этих островах, тем больше будет путевых радостей и восторгов, а главное — денежных поступлений, столь необходимых для этих островов. А тем, кто предпочитает путешествовать по морю, всегда останутся корабли, на которых можно приближаться к островам постепенно, наслаждаясь предчувствием земли, ее видом с моря и проходом между коралловыми рифами к пристани, до отказа заполненной людьми.
