В качестве примера я могла бы привести различные концепции, которые представлены мной в этой книге (например, защита, отслеживание разрыва, разрушительные инновации и т. д.). Когда я проверяю соответствие теории полученным результатам, то обычно спрашиваю: «Соответствуют ли эти концепции данным? Они значимы? Прорабатывают ли они исходные данные?» Если ответ такой: «Да, я считаю, что они точно отражают то, что было получено из данных», то, значит, теория верна. Как и в случае с теорией стыдоустойчивости, мои коллеги в области количественного исследования непременно испытают мои теории по искренности и уязвимости. Мы и в дальнейшем будем продолжать процесс исследования.
Когда я оглядываюсь назад, то лишний раз убеждаюсь в глубокой истине цитаты, которой я поделилась в начале этой главы. Действительно, нет иного пути, кроме «великих дерзаний». Благодаря тому, что участники исследования имели смелость поделиться своими историями, опытом и мудростью, я проложила путь, который определил мою карьеру и мою жизнь. Когда я впервые поняла важность уязвимости и искренней жизни, я оказалась в плену данных собственного исследования. Теперь я знаю, что это меня спасло.
